Project Overview
St. Doolagh’s Park is a purpose built care & rehabilitation centre situated in a park land setting off the Malahide Road, in Balgriffin Dublin 17, close to Malahide Village and Swords.
Eco Life Energy designed and installed a Hybrid Heating Hub to take over the production of hot water for the Space Heating and DHW in the nursing home. The Eco Life Hub replaced existing oil boilers in the plant room which were inefficient and replaced them with a system using air source heat pumps backed up by highly efficient oil boilers.

Installation of Heating System
Since installation the control panel in the Eco Life Hybrid Heating Hub controls the existing zone pumps, which are located in the original plant room of the nursing home, sending heat to the building on demand
Four thermostats for the provision of zonal control were installed in key areas of the nursing home
Predictions & Savings
Carbon Footprint at the site will be reduced by an estimated 45% year on year thus helping St Doolagh’s to meet the National Energy Efficiency Plan (NEEP 2020) guidelines which require a reduction of 20% in energy usage by 2020.
Primary Energy usage at the site will be reduced by an estimated 59% year on year.
Projected Savings in energy costs shows a system payback of circa 5 years. This does not take into account the savings made by reduced maintenance costs due to the installation of new plant. It also does not take into account the potential future increase in savings caused by a rise in inflation, the need to replace old plant or the cost of energy.
